In 2016, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a corresponding decree on the assignment of the name «Kyzlasov Mount" to an unnamed mountain with the coordinates 51°39.6' of northern latitude and 89°12.5' of eastern longitude and having an absolute height of 2969.4 meters, located on the Saldzhur Ridge of the Western Sayan mountain system in the territory of the Tashtyp district of the Republic of Khakassia. As it was stated in the document, the name has been assigned “in accordance with the Federal Law “On the Names of Geographical Objects” and on the basis of the proposal by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Khakassia, as well as to memorialize the archaeologist L.R. Kyzlasov, who made a significant contribution to the study of Siberia and Central Asia.
