Lake Dikoe is located in the Bogradsky district. The total area of the water table is 0.3 km². In length, the reservoir stretched for almost one kilometer (900 m), and the average width does not exceed 450 m. The depth of the lake is small, up to 7 meters. If you look at the water area from a bird's eye view, you can see that it is oval in shape. The origin of the lake is tectonic, the funnel occurred as a result of faults. After that, not only a reservoir appeared here, but also the springs. It is fed at the expense of underground sources and rainfall. Lake Dikoe is surrounded by mixed forests, which include birch, pine, larch.
Lake Dikoe can be used for medicinal purposes due to the high percentage of radon contained in the water. In terms of healing properties, it is equated to the Pyatigorsk springs. With the help of water, many diseases related to heart, joints, bones, muscles, and skin are treated. The lake has not yet been fully explored, but there are already preliminary conclusions that mud can also be used in medicine. In the summer, the reservoir warms up to a comfortable temperature, so there are a lot of vacationers on the beaches. However, for those who come to these places for the first time, it is useful to know that radon impurities have a relaxing effect, so it is not recommended to swim too far, as not everyone is able to correctly calculate their strength. You can stay in the water for no more than 10 minutes at a time.
